MPC Rex spent his first years preparing to deploy with the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Command, that included an assignment to their Group One Training Detachment as an immediate deployable option. At NSW, MPC Rex specialized in Apprehension, Tracking, and Explosive Detection.

His missions included direct action, fast-roping, rappelling, and maritime operations which included over-the-beach, vessel board searches, and seizure operations worldwide.

MPC Rex bravely deployed to CENTCOM during two rotations, specifically to Yemen, Africa, and Saudi Arabia. In 2021, Rex was instrumental in spearheading the Naval Special Warfare Multi-Purpose Canine Maritime Standard Operating Procedures for deployment.

MPC Rex was highly recognized by his team members who served alongside of him for his loyalty and dedication while serving overseas during the Global War on Terrorism. MPC Rex’s courage and commitment to his unit led to the safe returns of his team members.

In retirement, MPC Rex suffers from conditions that are directly related to his service while in the Navy. He is on several medications to help with these issues, that are now the financial responsibility of his still actively serving Handler. In order to live out the comfortable retirement he deserves, Project K-9 Hero has offered to cover all medical expenses for MPC Rex at 100% for the rest of his life to include veterinarian office visits, prescriptions, diagnostic testing, and any potential treatments or surgeries he may need.
