Want to know the worst thing about owning a German Shepherd?

Want to know the worst thing about owning a German Shepherd?
Hands down - it’s the stigma.
Any time these two are in public, they’re ignored… or people purposely avoid them.
We’ve taken them to dog events, dog-friendly ice cream shops, riverwalks, pet stores, parks, you name it - and I am almost never asked if they can be pet.
And it’s not because they’re lunging or barking. Most of the time they look exactly like this picture: happy, smiling, and hoping someone notices them.
My sister recently adopted a GSD too, and she texted me a few days ago about the night-and-day difference between taking her out versus her other dog. She said people will literally cross paths just to avoid them.
Meanwhile, her new dog is an absolute sweetheart.
I understand some people have had bad experiences and truly sympathize with that, but a lot of it really is ignorance. People hear “German Shepherd” and immediately think police dog or aggressive & won’t even give them a chance.
But let me tell you something…
I’d leave my kids alone in a room with these two before I would with some chihuahuas & doodles I know. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The funniest part is the “scary police dog” stereotype…
Meanwhile the only real danger is Moose aggressively trying to lean his entire body weight on strangers for attention.
So now I’m curious…
If you saw them in public, would you ask to pet them?!
No wrong answers or judgement, I promise!
