Amazingly Animal Story - 10

Punished and chained in the backyard, hunger ran through his veins after weeks without food.
He used to cry everyday. As if asking - "What did I do?"
"Why am I getting punished?"
Skiper was adopted as a puppy.
Small.
Hopeful.
He was so happy to finally have a home.
He didn’t know what was coming.
Instead of love, his family chained him in the backyard.
No attention.
No affection.
No warm bed.
No proper food.
He survived on scraps.
He slept on the hard ground.
Day by day, his body weakened.
Day by day, his spirit faded.
Then one day, they left.
They walked away and never came back.
Skiper was left behind — chained, with no food and no water.
He stayed there for days.
Crying.
Waiting.
Until a neighbor finally heard him.
By the time we reached him, Skiper was painfully thin.
Hungry.
And shattered.
He had been betrayed by the very people he trusted.
The ones he loved.
When I tried to show him affection, he pulled away.
No matter how gently I reached out, he avoided me.
His heart had been broken too deeply.
So I did the only thing I could.
I stayed.
I waited.
I showed him patience instead of pressure.
His fur was falling out.
His body was dry and frail.
At the shelter, I gave him a soft bed.
Warm meals.
Regular baths.
All the care he had been denied.
At first, his recovery was slow.
His body struggled to keep up.
But as the days passed, something shifted.
Skiper began to realize I wasn’t leaving.
That the hands caring for him were safe.
Little by little, he surrendered.
He allowed himself to feel again.
To trust again.
The love he had buried long ago returned.
His strength slowly came back.
And then his fur began to grow again.
He was improving.
Every day, Skiper received love and attention.
He made friends at the shelter.
And soon, he started playing with them.
His story touched hearts around the world.
People followed his journey.
They rooted for him.
Adoption requests began to arrive.
After careful thought, I chose the best family for him.
When the day came to say goodbye, my heart ached.
I had grown deeply attached to him.
But Skiper was ready.
Now, he’s living his best life.
His tail never stops wagging.
His smile is bright and carefree.
He’s surrounded by love.
Spoiled in the best way.
He has adorable brothers he spends his days playing with.
