Amazingly Animal Story - 23

Her name is Georgie and she and her two siblings were born on Christmas Day. But this wasn’t a Christmas miracle…they were destined to be shot by their owner 😪 

A woman travelling the East Coast came across them when they were just a few days old. They were already being eaten alive by fleas. She bottle-fed them for two weeks and quite literally saved their lives. She reached out to us and we brought them into care. 

As part of our usual process, we offer de-sexing of the parents but to add to this devastating story, we cannot desex the mother as we have no idea who she is or where she is now 😓 

That means this cycle will likely continue. More puppies will be born and more lives will be put at risk, simply because the owner has not taken responsibility. 

If a puppy is born, it deserves more than just existence. It deserves a life filled with love, joy, safety, and happiness - to run on the beach, to feel the warmth of a family, to be fed, cared for and cherished 💜 Every life has meaning. Every life deserves to matter. 

What kind of country do we live in where lives are treated as disposable? What is the point of bringing puppies into the world if they are only going to die? Desex your dogs or if a litter is born, take responsibility. Look after them. Puppies should never be born just to die. 

These three nearly didn’t make it. For every Georgie out there, this must stop ❤️‍🩹
