People Are Squinting Their Eyes Reallllly Hard At How Fox News Is Apparently Reporting On Melania Trump's New Documentary
Melania Trump's self-titled documentary hit theaters this weekend — much to critics' dismay.
Melania, an Amazon-MGM film with a $75 million price tag, follows the 55-year-old for the 20 days leading up to her husband's inauguration.
According to USA Today, Melania's opening weekend box office brought in $7 million. This figure is higher than the expected $3 million to $5 million opening, so that's a win for the first lady, I guess.
Amazon-MGM may be feeling a slight burn, though. As the New York Times put it, "Theater owners keep roughly 50 percent of ticket sales, meaning that Amazon will end the weekend with about $3.5 million to show for its investment."
But, if you ask Fox News, Melania was a major success. Just look at the lower third headline they apparently ran with: "Box Office Success for Melania Trump's Movie."
In response, people online were squinting their eyes. One person questioned, "They spent $75 million and made [$7] million and they're calling it a success????"
"Clearly, we have different notions of what success means," another said.
The internet is like, "Is box office success in the room with us?"
