Amazingly Animal Story - 46
9 year old Lola arrived with us earlier this week and has already had quite a busy few days.
She also had her pre-anaesthetic blood tests, which thankfully came back normal.
On Wednesday Lola had an extensive dental, as her mouth was sadly in quite a very poor state and had clearly been uncomfortable for some time. She had a number of teeth removed and is now recovering well in her foster home.
Sadly dental disease is extremely common in Cavaliers. From our own rescue data, around 70% of Cavaliers arriving into our care need significant dental work, often including multiple extractions.
Lola also has a luxating kneecap, and a slow-growing lump between her vulva and anus, which the vets feel is most likely benign but will be monitored closely.
Lola has also had puppies during her life. Despite everything she has been through this week she is doing well and enjoying some much-needed rest and TLC in her foster home.
She’ll pop back soon to let everyone know how she’s getting on.
